Does this Encourage you to Consider Kidney Donation?
I found this masterfully rendered drawing of the human kidney while reading medical blogs this evening. Designed by Nizar Swailem, the poster promotes organ donation at the American University of Beruit.
"Sometimes you don't have to give up your life to give life to someone else."
Very powerful indeed.

I had a boyfriend who was born with a condition where only one of his kidneys functioned. I dated him in his early 30s, then we broke up but were still friends. I found out about 2 years later that his working kidney failed, and his brother saved his life by donating one of his kidneys. As far as i know (from Facebook) my friend is still going strong, has a great family and a good life. Thank goodness.
ReplyDeleteThis is exquisite. Beautifully done, powerful message.
ReplyDeleteI just found out my sister has a failing kidney. I would not hesitate to donate a kidney, if necessary. This illustration is magnificent.
ReplyDeleteSimple and well put...the Cornell Veterinary School website has a great video on kidney function in cats, very easy to understand and sometime I refer people there just to view it for their own edification.
